Mat for BGE table

Does anyone use a mat on their BGE table?
I have a cedar table the accumulated a lot of grease on it. I recently refinished it and I am looking for recommendations on what I can put on it to keep the grease off when cooking.

I don’t but I suppose a guy could make such a cover by cutting up one of those fireproof deck protector mats. Only problem is they will prevent the wood from drying once in rains and then that typically ruins whatever finish you used! I instead just wipe my table off now and then with Simple Green and paper towels because lump dust collects in those grease splatters and makes a mess!

I bought a stainless steel 'cover' for the part of my table where I usually work.
Pros: no rust, easy clean, covers the wood (which would look horrible by now, given the amount I use it) and is indestructible. It also double functions as a cutting board.
Cons: it looks new for 1 second and then looks 5 years old, will dull any knife you use
Can only wholeheartedly advise to get one of those, be it store bought or custom made. -
I recommend using Starboard. Comes in different thicknesses. Put some feet on it (rubber or whatever) so it doesn't trap water underneath. It is impervious to weather and it makes a great cutting board, doesn't dull your knives, and it's fairly cheap. It is made from HDPE (high density polyethylene). It cuts with saw/router easily. You can get it in all kinds of colors and with textures if you want.

Also, HDPE can be certified food safe (if it's virgin and not recycled). Personally, I don't think it matters if you're just using it as a cutting board. Cleans up easy, easy to disinfect. Look no further.
