Tomahawk so good it ended with a bang

Reverse seared up a tomahawk for Swmbo and I and a lil NY strip for the girls last night. Came out killer. Roasted at 300°; pulled at 115° internal, seared at 650° For 4 minutes a side. Pulled em off, shut down the egg and heard and felt thru the ground a loud BANG. Looked under my egg and discovered the base cracked.

    Don’t you know it! 3rd base that’s cracked on me. It’s funny I’ve had to replace all the ceramics on my 2016 egg except the dome, cap and plate setter. This was the first time I actually heard a piece crack.

    WOW . . . sorry for the bad luck but at least it happened after the cook.
