Cracked bases put to use

I have owned my large for 12 years and replaced the base twice. BGE was great about it and got it replaced fast.
I just replaced my second base and this time put a new Rutland(thanks Ron) and new bands which are nice. The bands are a great improvement IMO.
Here is what my cracked bases are doing now.

Way to repurpose. Good idea to use that cracked base on a non-combustible surface.

I cut a plastic tub down and put in an XL base. Used spray foam around it and built a wooden top. Now have a BGE cooler on the patio.

Years ago I entered a BGE dealer’s store which had a cracked XL base being used as a flower pot. You had to walk around it to get in their front door. The big crack was quite visible because the dirt was running down trough the crack and piled up on the sidewalk beneath that crack. I always wondered if that was a hint not to buy an XL or was a VERY SMART sales gimmick to promote the BGE lifetime warranty...but I’ll never know.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time
