Daisy Wheel Top

Options
First, let me say, I have BGE and Kamado Joe cookers...love them all. They both have their strengths and weaknesses.  One of the things I’ve always liked about BGE is the daisy wheel control top was cast iron. This allowed for good heat cleaning and seasoning.  The Kamado Joe tops, both old and new style are cast aluminium (I think) certainly not cast iron which makes them a bit trickier to clean and maintain for the long haul.  I recently seen some pictures of new BGEs with a different style top, is this one also cast iron? Why the change?
