Unexpected Costco find today. Too good to pass up considering how easy briskets are to screw up!

That is what it always is at my Costco. What are they normally priced for you?Large, Medium, MiniMax, 36" Blackstone

Well I am probably the most happy about it because for whatever reason my Costco literally almost never has them at all. So honestly I don’t know what they are normally priced by Costco. But this is a damn good price considering what I pay for them at butcher shop. Plus it’s prime! I have seen whole brisket at my local Costco twice in 10 years including today. So maybe it’s not a special deal but it’s a hell of a find here!Upstate SC

My costco always has them but $3.49 a lb in GA

Yes, my local butcher is always around 6.99-8.99/lb for prime. I am spoiled with Costco. Yesterday there were about 20 full packers to choose from. How many did you buy? Stock that freezer!Large, Medium, MiniMax, 36" Blackstone

Glad you scored a good deal. One reason why Texas is awesome, they are always that price here. You can get choice grade at the grocery stores for between $1.29-$1.89 a pound fairly often. I've found Primes at Costco for $2.49 a lb before and what I believe were SRF Wagyu at Costco a couple times for $6.99 a pound.

Last time I looked at Costco they were also $2.99 a pound in MN, which I was also happy about. It's the first time I've seen them below $3.49 in quite a while.Stillwater, MN

That's sweet. My Costco is inconsistent at best w their prime beef. I bought a membership only for the brisket and only bought one there so far.I have an Australian "9 grade" brisket that I'll do later this week that I got thru my local meat guy from $9.95/lb=======================================

Same here at my upstate SC Costco. Prime beef is in very small lots and no guarantee it’ll even be there. Also while brisket flats are common, a whole brisket is a rarity. A prime brisket is a damn unicorn.thetrim said:That's sweet. My Costco is inconsistent at best w their prime beef. @thetrim - You have a top-shelf quality brisket right there. Nail the feel and you will be in meat-coma heaven. I am eager to see the fruits of your labors.

I ran by Sams Club two days before Christmas and saw that their prime briskets were $2.64. Best price I’ve seen on prime brisket in a while. So guess what we had for Christmas Eve dinner? Brisket & it was delicious!
