Veggies cook question

Looking to hear what most do for veggies with your turkey. Thinking of putting the carrots, onions, potatoes and such in a drip pan under my turkey. Is that a good or bad idea? Do I add any liquids for will they be fine with just drippings. Doing a 20# turkey tomorrow. Thanks for any insight to what has worked for you in the past.
Have a wonderful Turkey Day

We have garlic mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and Brussels sprouts.

Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

I line the bottom of my roasting pan with stalks of celery, carrots quartered lengthwise, and coarse chopped onion. Build a layer about two inches thick and set the bird on top. It makes for tender veggies and awesome gravy.

Will have to give this a try, sounds good. I had a similar setup but not sitting in it. All came out good
