Carriage bolt size

I want to get some new carriage bolts for a few of my eggs, does anyone know the size of them?  I am probably just going to order them online so I don't the in person comparison option.  Also, is stainless stronger here?

I don't know the diameter or length (just measure your old ones), but they are Grade 5 carriage bolts, not stainless. The head of a Grade 5 has three notches...

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I hear colloquially the black bolts are larger on average.
