Woks

All the woks I have seen for BBQ's have holes in them, and the woks I have seen in restaurants do not have holes. There are some recipes that I can not see working on a wok with holes. Are there some woks without holes that work well in a LBGE?

Sundown,[p]This place has a bunch of wok stuff including everything you;ll need. We do stir fry frequently during the summer and love it. Good luck

  • Sundown,
I agree with Sundown, this shop has everything for stir-frying. I brought a carbon steel and a traditional chinese cast iron, on both you, need to season before use. Good luck

Zee,[p]The ones you have seen with holes are used for deep frying and have a metal handle on the side and fit inside a larger wok with hot oil for deep frying. Definately not EGG use. Brass basket strainers with bamboo handles are normally used in the home environment. I have a 14 inch diameter with 2 metal 1/2 rings on the sides and it works great in my large, also it will hold a 12" diameter steamer basket and mad max has perfected the cooking of fish this way. Just ask him for the recipe! It is great.

    Zee,
The ones you see with holes in them are usually used to stir fry veggies. You can use a regular wok in the Egg as well to cook veggies, shrimp etc.with a liquid sauce, mushrooms, oyster sauce, soy sauce etc.The same way you would do it on the stove top.
