Dutch oven and the EGG question

I saw some cool recipes where it involves the EGG and a Dutch oven.  My wife’s response was why do you need to use a Dutch oven on the EGG instead of a normal oven.   Aside from the EGG being fun/cool and the kitchen oven not so much, is there actually a benefit to using the EGG for something like jumbalaya recipes?  Do you cook with the lid off and you get a better flavor?

i hope it’s something like that to justify another add on with it being so new!

thanks and happy Father’s Day to all of the Dads!

A lot of folks (including me) use a Dutch oven with lid open for recipes like pepper stout beef or over the top chili, gumbo, etc.  You do get a Smokey flavor that you cannot get inside.  Just use whatever wood chunks you like.  Plus you have the bonus of playing with fire and keeping the heat out of the house.

Ok thanks - those are great points.  I see a Dutch oven in the future.
