How does one go about changing the gasket (upper/lower) and realigning the top so smoke does not leak out?  Thank you in advance!

    Not much to go on but, disassemble, scrape old gasket, clean surface, install new gasket, reassemble.

    "realigning the top so smoke does not leak out" sounds to me like the planes of your dome and base are out of whack! That means the dome doesn't sit down properly on your base. There are a few reasons why, and most aren't complicated fixes...however if your BGE is a new one then get your dealer to fix it for you!
