Place setter + V rack and Drip pan = tight fit

Unknown
edited November -0001 in EggHead Forum
I am doing some ribs this AM and notcied that when I put the BGE drip pan in the upside-down place setter in my Medium BGE and add the V rack, that it's an awful tight fit.
Will I be ok just setting the drip pan on top of the fire ring and setting the V-Rack in it for indirect heat?[p]Also, approx. how much water is sufficient in the drip pan?

    Kevin in Birmingham,
what size EGG? I put platesetter w/a spacer between it and my drip pan(I use 4 copper 1/2" ells) if there is no space my drippings dry up and burn in the pan...when I use a drip pan....I may or may not use wine, water, beer, apple cider vinegar, apple cider, or any combination of those liquids.....now fer sure if I was not using the platesetter I would definately have liquid[p]goog luck and posts some pics.....

    <p />Metalhead,
hahaha! i'm awake![p]when i used the v-rack for ribs, i put the plate setter legs up, drip pan on the plate setter, grid on the plate setter legs, and v-rack on the plate grid. it is tight in the medium, but it works. the top will adjust the v-rack to where it needs to be.[p]the v-rack will not fit in the medium this way if it's turned the other way, say for a roast. you have to put the v-rack in the drip pan on the plate setter without the grid.
