Rutland gasket and aligning the lid

Just changed my gaskets out today and put the Rutland on. I realize I probably didn’t bring my permatex layer quite to 3/16” - hope that’s okay. When aligning the hinge with the lid you use the spacers when you have a Rutland?

No, not necessarily. The idea is if even necessary then all you need to do to re-align the planes of your dome and base will be to loosen the bands and press them down before re-tightening them.

I sure hope you left that dome down for the 24 hours like I told you this morning when you asked me in an email.

Anything else you want to ask?

Oh yes dome’s down and not coming off until it’s been 24 hours. I’m dumb but not that dumb! HAH! I was just wondering if I’ll need the spacers tomorrow in case I have to go dig them out. Can’t wait to be up a running again with that nice new gasket. Thanks again for all your help.
