Well that sucks, though not surprising. Still, last night, I had pinto beans with a side of collards (my new favorite green vegetable, 20 minutes in the Instant Pot). Was gonna make cornbread, but got lazy. Anyway, wonderful meal! And no meat.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

This could impact the supply of pork. I actually prefer the Swift brand, but it's harder to find than Smithfield.

  • Smithfield is owned by a Chinese company.  Could China be trying to hurt us economically by idling their plants and spread fear?

I'm sure that is exactly what is happening.

I think my local grocery store buys whole hogs out of Louisiana and cuts them up in house. They had a good price on ham Friday I might give that a shot. Just about enough turkey pot pie left for lunch tomorrow.
