Egg Genius install

Purchased an Egg Genius, successfully connected to Wi-Fi, and would like to install for its  first cook. The manuals/tutorials clearly detail operation, but don’t seem to address my initial concern that relate to the procedures and order of:
1) installing the vent plate receptacle
2) lighting the Egg
3) inserting the Egg Genius controller

Do you install the Genius, then light the Egg? (Airflow & backdraft concern)
Install plate, light Egg, then Genius? (Airflow & backdraft concern)
Light Egg, then fight heat to insert plate, then Genius?

I used to have a Flame Boss and I guess this is the same thing.  What I did was lit the fire first and then would fit the blower into the lower opening right away and hook everything up.  Set the controller at the temp you want and that was pretty much it.  I never concerned myself with backdrafts.

Light your fire as u normally do.  Let the fire get established and leave your top and bottom vent wide open. After u have a fire going close the dome but leave both vents wide open.  Watch temp gauge as soon as u hit your target temp install the flame boss. Remember to shut the top vent almost closed. It also helps to get the flame boss turned on and set up makes things easier when u install it.
