Raiding the Deep Freeze

We raided the deep freeze and came up with a 13.25 pound turkey.  I spatchcocked it.  I didn’t brine it as planned because I was way too busy beating my family in Yahtzee, cards, Tumbling Dice and other games.  Ain’t quarantine wonderful?  Under the skin I loaded up the bird with a mixture of mayo & Mad Max

Pretty good.  What tales from the deep freeze can you share?
Flint, Michigan

Ex-MIL gave me some orange juice one day. I tried it and it tasted funny. Looked on the carton and it had expired in 1977. She had pulled it from the deep freeze. This was in 2002. To this day I don't know if it was an accident or not!

Nah. No luck as such involved with this one. Vac sealed and frozen all this time. Wasn't worried about spoilage. But yes, surprised that it tasted totally fine.

    I’ve got another one...

pulled out a vac sealed brisket flat ( circa 2014) for brisket spaghetti sauce. Threw in star anise, fennel pollen, and a dried red chile for good measure.

    I’m expecting it’ll turn out ok =)

Doh! I’m a bit dense :) I myself marvel at how or why she’s put up with me for so long.
