Bought a used XL BGE and this came with it...what is it?!

Good afternoon, new member & my first post. I just want to say thanks for having this great forum that I've used several times for some awesome cooking.
Long story short, I was able to buy an XL egg with table for an amazing price. Plus it came with a boat load of accessories...including this black metal ring.
It's about as large in diameter as the XL egg but I can't figure out its purpose.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Comments

looks like an accessory for a Weber smokey mountain or kettle 22.5" . Maybe a rotisserie rig.

part of a weber rotisserie

Wow, so sweet! Thanks for helping me figure it out. And I just told my wife it'd be awesome to rotisserie chickens at home! I swear I almost threw the thing out. So I couldn't use this on the BGE?

@ericwol I would say no. You wouldn't be able to close the lid. The joetisserie is angled so you can close the lid.XLBGE, LBGE, MBGE, SMALL, MINI, 2 Kubs, Fire Magic Gasser

Welcome aboard and enjoy the journey. Continue to have fun!
Nothing further to add regarding your accessory except that you could go with the dome open and the fire low in the fire box. Lower vent shut and you will get an even bed of hot coals. (like building a fire for a paella cook). FWIW-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. Those sell for about $180 with the motor & spit. You probably could sell it on your local classifieds.

Awesome, I didn't pay too much more for the whole package so I might have to keep it for future grilling. Right now I have a medium egg, the XL, a Weber gas grill so another Weber would be awesome...but it's getting tight space-wise in the yard! Thanks for all your help! Happy grilling!

Keep an eye on your local Craigslist for a $20 (or free) 22" kettle. They're out there. Might be hard to find the motor and spit separately though.

Yup. Weber rotisserie. I have one for my kettle. The setup works very well. Hard to go wrong with a Weber kettle. I've had one for 35 years. It peacefully coexists with my LBGE. They are great compliments to one another.Michiana, South of the border.
