all always look in the "dead meat" bin. I never find that kind of deal though
Coleman, Texas
Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...

I normally don’t find anything good either. Just get lucky every once in awhile.SciAggie said:all always look in the "dead meat" bin. I never find that kind of deal thoughThank you,DarianGalveston Texas -

Yes, Texas. He is from a farming/cattle family. As much as anyone in the biz I guess.speed51133 said:What does Nolan Ryan know about beef?

Nolan Ryan probably knows as much about beef as Jimmy Dean does about sausage or Paul Newman knows about salad dressing.Coleman, Texas

What a score! I get lucky once in a blue moon too, scored a stack of these a while back, additional 20% loyalty discount off the sticker price, in loonies

We used to get the good stuff, when we had locally owned grocery stores with friends in the butcher shop. We have two food stores in whole county, both in the same town, in the same shopping center. Food Lion, and Walmart. I choose not to patronize either one.

At RCSS, definitely a YMMV unadvertised deal. Got 200 PC Optimuum points /$1 spent. Each pack contains four full size mini racks, really cute and tasty.GrateEggspectations said:Wow. That is cheap. Where’d you pick it up?

It’s like you’re speaking another language. Wherever it was, you got a deal.Canugghead said:

Nolan steaks look really good.
Cut the bone on the larger choice ribeye steak.Had it seasoned before I snapped photo. Was a nice solid choice grade but nothing spectacular, especially next to the other 2.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
Better to be lucky than good any day! Great score.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

You're the king of good deals, Darian. We call it the grey meat section
at our Kroger. Some good deals there, but not quite close to yours.

I thought this thread might have funny stories about getting caught doing something stupid. Looking at old meat is almost more entertaining. Carry on.Flint, Michigan

I feel the urge to seek an angioplasty just looking at that inter-muscular fat.

Ryan steaks were equal to the best steak I have ever had. Buttery, beefy goodness...
The hacked down tomahawk was also very, very good.
Thanks for following.

Big baseball fan and Nolan Ryan is up there in the collectibles of signed baseballs I have purchased all with questionable but "authentic" paperwork (when dead not my issue to sort out) and stopped the buys several years ago.TEXASBGE2018 said:Awesome score but ain’t no way I’m eating the devil steak.
Now to 666. Sometimes you just have to stare down 666. My first (and last) sky-dive (granted was tandem) was on 6/6/06 (along with my son who got hooked on the hobby until it was on his nickel). I would be on that like "white on rice or"...Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. @Photo Egg Posts passing in the ether- Nailed that cook. Glad it was great but I'm sure your skill-set elevated the steaks to that level. Definitely did them all right. Great money shot shots for the WIN. Congrats.
BTW- I will just leave this here about Nolan Ryan:
"Ryan is the all-time leader in no-hitters with seven, three more than any other pitcher. He is tied with Bob Feller for the most one-hitters, with 12. Ryan also pitched 18 two-hitters. Despite this, he never pitched a perfect game, nor did he ever win a Cy Young Award. Ryan is one of only 29 players in baseball history to have appeared in Major League baseball games in four different decades."
