Minimax Dome Thermometer

Hate this thing. Can’t cook anything thicker than a steak or or jabs into my meat. Especially with the plate setter, that elevates the rack another inch or two. Have to be very creative about positioning the meat or it will touch the probe. Anyone have suggestions/alternative some temp monitoring suggestions?
