F%ck the blizzard, I want a steak!

It is pretty nasty outside right now, snow mixed with freezing rain and lots of wind. F%ck it, I’m grilling a steak!
I dry brined the steak when I woke up this morning and let it rest for a couple of hours in the fridge. I rinsed it and then dried it. It has now been sitting on the counter for an hour or two. It is going on the BGE in a few minutes.
🖕winter!

A bit overdone for my taste but SWMBO was happy, just as she likes it.

It was El Dorado Seaside. It was a bit more laid back than the last one we visited. Which I kinda liked. You could wear shorts to dinner etc. Still had ample ala carte dining opportunities, which is a must for me. I’m a bit phobic of buffet dining in general. We were basically guests of some friends we traveled with that are members to the Karisma resorts. We were treated very nicely. I’m not a tequila guy but we brought back some Clase Azul. Pretty good stuff. Weather was ideal. Wish you were there too. Enjoy the steakpaqman said:

Nice! Believe it or not, I’ve never been to Mexico. We typically go to Cuba. Our last two trips were in Dominican Republic. Next one will likely be at Excellence Playa Mujeres. I think that I’m sold on the Excellence resorts now.pgprescott said:

Now that is fronting up and getting it done. Great steak and even better results. Congrats.
BTW- someone likes your skill set-nice sign over the snow covered BGE's.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
Ironic that your other recent post is about making ice when nature has already provided you with an abundance. 🙃 Was quite the downfall. Biggest snowflakes I’ve ever seen. That is one single snowflake on the tip of my hand. It had already started to melt when I snapped the pic.
Nice looking meal there. Like the table for your MiniMax. Source?
My BGEs haven’t gotten much love recently. I’ve been busy furiously prepping the house for listing.

It got pretty nasty last night with the wind. I got the table from Costco several years ago. I’m happy with it but you can’t drop a hot platesetter on it. The top is kinda flimsy and warps under the heat. It goes back to its shape when cooling down though... SWMBO gave me the OK to have a custom unit built by Inoxtal but I’m not sure that I really need it. I’m going to sell the mini max because I barely use it so that will give me more space. I just use the LBGE and the Blackstone, the mini max didn’t get lit once last summer. https://www.costco.ca/trinity-ecostorage%e2%84%a2-nsf-stainless-steel-prep-table-with-wheels.product.100098597.html
Why are you selling the house?

@lousubcap a friend gave me the sign last summer it is pretty cool. It was unexpected and a nice finishing touch when I « renovated » the deck area. He loves my baby back ribs. I know what he wants when he calls 😂lousubcap said:Now that is fronting up and getting it done. Great steak and even better results. Congrats.

@paqman: Thanks for the link. We’re planning to move to Ottawa. My wife works in Ottawa South and her commute is just too long. Also, her parents, who do a great deal for us and will be watching our second child during the workdays until he reaches school age (as they did with our first child), also live out that way. We love our current house and neighbourhood (Le Plateau), but we’ve toyed with the idea of a move for years and are finally pulling the trigger. We’ll be looking for something central, but hopefully won’t be breaking the bank too badly. 😅

According to the guy I met in Mexico, there is no way to avoid breaking the bank @ Ottawa. Happy hunting and good luck!GrateEggspectations said:@paqman: Thanks for the link. Yes, unfortunately, the market is quite hot right now. Bidding wars and many places selling well above asking ($75K over and above asking price). Because we’re moving to a more central location, we’re expecting to spend another 70% over and above the expected sale price of the place I am listing. I expect I’ll be eating KD for a bit. 😅 Beyond that, the place we’ll be moving into will be both older and not as nice as the place we’re leaving. The move is my wife’s idea. The things we do for love. 🙃pgprescott said:
