I (tried to) fly R/C aircraft from about age 15 to 19, or thereabouts.  Bought and soldered together a Heathkit 3-channel set, that worked.  Sometimes.  
I did have a few successful flights, but spent many more hours learning how to repair things (not necessarily a bad thing).  I could get a plane to skim the surface like he does, but only via "control line" (flying the plane in a circle, connected by wires).  Watching him doing it by radio just blows me away.  Wow.   :open_mouth:

    That’s crazy stuff.  I built and flew .60 size planes in the early 90’s.  6’ wingspans with OS .60 4-stroke motors, 4 channel PCM radios, had over $1K in a plane/radio. Lots of fun, but never saw one fly like in that video.  I had a swamp buggy .60 that was a blast on the lake, and a 5’ inboard that was super fast.  Really liked my boats.

    My buddy built helicopters, but never had much success flying them (lots of crashes). 
    And now it’s all about drones!

    That’s awesome.  Saw a lot of the same tricks at the Pensacola air show with the pilot in the plane.  Balls of steel
