It would be really nice if the Smobot graph plotted the damper open % across the X axis.and a trend lkne and a trend line for the pit temp. But if I don’t get my wish I’m Ok without.

The problem with a problem is that you don't know it's a problem until it's a problem, and that is a big problem.

I believe that they don’t add the damper to graph because of the questions it would raise- like why did the damper open back up when I am trying to go to a lower temperature.
I wouldn’t count on Smobot Santa filling that request. But who knows what they will come up with. -
When you set a lower temp the damper will occasionally momentarily open wide in order to prevent the fire from snuffing out completely - it gives it a chance to catch its breath, so to speak.Smokin_Trout said:I believe that they don’t add the damper to graph because of the questions it would raise- like why did the damper open back up when I am trying to go to a lower temperature.

If I am not mistaken, one of the fan units shows a fan %. Let us think about it for a sec. If the damper opening is trending upward in an effort to keep the temp constant and struggling and this trend continues it could indicate that one is running out of fuel (lump). Or airflow is having a problem....Smokin_Trout said:I believe that they don’t add the damper to graph because of the questions it would raise- like why did the damper open back up when I am trying to go to a lower temperature.

The problem with a problem is that you don't know it's a problem until it's a problem. I hate those problems.
