Got one day before thanksgiving, got it updated and with the help from Flameboss customer service was able to cook two turkeys. Tried it again and it didn't work. Next day Flameboss customer service determined it was "bricked" and they were going to send me a new one but we decided it would be easier for me to return it and swap a new one from the dealer. Thought I had it setup and hooked up to my app but hardware wouldn't update. Customer service said they turned off updates for the weekend but it should work fine. Then got an email Friday afternoon that said they were putting out a firmware update. I left it plugged in overnight and it never updated. I wanted to use it tonight and had it online so it seemed to be working. I started my charcoal, took it outside, plugged it in, saw it was online, tried to set the pit temp and got a spinning circle that wouldn't stop. It went offline and never would reconnect.
FB service is awesome and I will call them tomorrow but this thing was too expensive if it's not going to work reliably. What kind of experience has everyone else had?

Have used 2 FB’s for a couple of years, and both update automatically when I turn them on (if a new update is available). They connect to WiFi and do their thing, cook after cook. All historical cooks are available, and I am 100% happy with performance.

I've sold over a thousand FB over the years and rarely hear of any issues. But the ones that I do, it's usually a router/network issue on the initial connection. After that first connection, then it's smooth sailing. Sometimes at the shop, we'll get it connected on my wifi to show the customer and update the firmware. Then if it doesn't connect at home, it's their router. I've never had one that refused to connect with more than one wifi......it's always been just one connection where the router didn't like it, or vice versa.

Awesome. That makes me feel better. I did plug it in this morning and just got a text that the new firmware updated so i'll see how it goes. Hopefully smooth sailing now because I'd really like this thing to work. And I agree, FB customer service has been great.LBGE, Minimax
