BGE acacia table modification help

I just went into my local dealer and was shopping around for a table for my Large egg. They have the acacia ones there and are $375. Seems like a great price to me since I usually see it listed at $450. The question I have is I was wanting either granite or concrete slab on the table for handling hot stuff. Is it possible/easy to cut some of the top acacia boards out and drop a granite piece in it? Thanks for the advice.

Absolutely, but why not just use a piece similar to a trivet and leave the table as is?

This. I bought 12" granite tiles for $1 each at a garage sale and set a couple on my old table. Worked great.pgprescott said:Absolutely, but why not just use a piece similar to a trivet and leave the table as is?#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -
What is a "acacia" one? No dealers in my town that have one, just an ACE Hardware

That's the only wood table they offer now. They discontinued the mahogany and teak ones a couple years ago.Tspud1 said:What is a "acacia" one? No dealers in my town that have one, just an ACE Hardware
