This has some serious potiental. Pig fat dripping on bacon......looking forward to the outcome.I drink cheap beer so I can afford good bourbon.

I tried this last weekend and my beans dried out and burned to the bottom of the pan. They were salvageable but not my best work. I had balls of foil under the pan to keep from burning on the platesetter. So I think I just need more liquid next time? How long during the rib cook do you keep the beans on?

My first time trying them this way, I too have foil balls under the pan... maybe I should’ve added some water, my plan is to keep them on the whole cookBoileregger said:I tried this last weekend and my beans dried out and burned to the bottom of the pan. Maybe I’ll try and add a beer now for more liquid

Or some bourbon! Let us know the results and hopefully I can learn from you for my next attempt.Phatchris said:Maybe I’ll try and add a beer now for more liquid -
You might add some to the beans, too.Phatchris said:Maybe I’ll try and add a beer now for more liquid

Finished product
not bad, the ribs were marked from the UK and really scrawny
added a little too much beer to both the cook and beans...lol

Looks like a winner to me.

I've got some ribs going today as well. Wish I had those beans to go with them. Nice work!Stillwater, MN
