I’m supper excited to try this new Wonder Bird rub on some chicken thighs.  Who else got a sample in the mail?

  • I didn’t, but that sounds fantastic. Hate that I literally just ordered a 7 pack of rubs. I would have waited to add that one in the mix if I had known.

I need to get on that list 😂

A little derail but... I love DP rubs for the most part but both the wife and I just flat out do not like Tsunami Spin.  I am wondering if we got a bad bottle or just not into it.  Anyone else get an odd aftertaste with their Tsunami rub?

Rubs are hit or miss for individual taste buds. I bought a DP rub the other day and we didn’t like it all so we tossed it. We like some of their rubs. C’est la vie.

Along the same lines, I think Lanes Qnami is pretty good. It made it into our rotation. Haven’t tried the Tsunami because the wifey likes the Lane’s and if it ain’t broke....

  • I like tsunami spin a lot. We use it on veggies a couple times a week.

Absolutely Mrs3969s favorite rub.  It’s in my top 5

It probably depends on if you like sesame or not. I don’t but the majority of their rubs I like.

@kl8ton you can signup on Dizzy Pigs website.  Or be lucky enough to be related to chef Norah Grace.

So I decided I couldn’t hold off until Sunday to cook chicken, Tate’s it and to me it seems to be a mix of Dizzy dust with notes of citrus.  Norah Grace and Marci told me it would be great on shrimp....so that may be what it’s used on.

  • Wings this weekend. I still haven’t tried the spicy Dizzy and a handful of other gifted chicken rubs. May just do a wing fest for the family this weekend.

@Killit_and_Grillit nothing wrong with a wing fest.  We made a ton a wings the other day and tried tons of sauces on them.  Turns out I like mustard bbq sauce on my wings.

As it would be, I was planning to grill some chicken breasts for dinner. Raised direct on the Small.

Really good stuff, wife and kids approved.

Let me know when you find something to compete with Plowboys Yardbird and Chicken Scratch. Those are two top notch winners.

Been buying the Killer Hogs in 5# bags.  I use a bag per year minimum. Just haven’t found a better rub to date, and paying $38.99 a bag!

I do like the killer hogs stuff. Good product at a fair price.

DP crossroads is tied with @EggObsessed Power Blend  for my favorite rub in the world. I also make a SPOG that we use a TON of.

I like it a lot......reminds me of Raging River without the fennel or star anise in it, and a little less sugar.

I have not received a free sample. It may be on its way. I did receive my Pick 7 a week or two ago, nothing extra but the $1 uncharge for the Ghost rub. I have enjoyed every rub I ever got from them. I may be cheating as I buy the little samples from a dealer before I order a shaker.

1/3 Ghost to 2/3  Peruvian-ish is a favorite on wings in our house

Wife put on rub, so it is likely closer to 50/50 Peruviab-ish/Ghost on the wings on the BGE right now. I'll be okay, as long as the G&T's hold out!
  • normally get his samples but nothing yet as of Friday   :D

  • They were excellent! Ghost on bottom. However, as Rogue Warrior famously said, "Come on ice cream!" I'll be ready for the morning!
Wings on top were Four41 South Gamechanger, which we dipped in Jag Off, courtesy of @JKellar in the rub/spice swap.
