Costco Brisket Score

Pretty elated.....
Brisket is rather rare in my parts. When I can get it, it sells for insane prices at local butcher shops. For only the second time since I began regularly visiting the Costcos in my area, they were selling packer briskets (AAA, or Choice, as it's known in the U.S.). I only had time to buy one before they promptly disappeared again. My heart sunk.
Today, while visiting a Costco I don’t generally frequent in my area, I stumbled across three remaining packers and a sign reading “$10 off” per package. Needless to say, I bought all they had, which was three in the 19-22lb range.
Now to find the requisite fridge and freezer space....
My wife is somehow less enthusiastic than I am.

Great score. I don't know about the others but that's a mighty fine looking brisket with a nice butcher job at the processing plant. Window of opportunity; way to jump thru. Congrats.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
Reg price 8.99/kg right? I noticed it dropped from 10.99 to 10.49 to 8.99 since spring. Great score, thanks for the alert. Time to make room in the freezer 😊

Where in Canada are you? In Ottawa the $10 off is for tenderloin packers. ☹️

That's one reason I cant leave Texas.. unlimited supply of prime brisket at 3 bucks a pound with the occasional wagyu at 4 a pound...Dallas Texas.

I’m in Ottawa. It was the Innes Costco yesterday. I usually go to the Gatineau one (beer!), but given the brisket stocks were depleted, I took a chance on Innes and found the briskets, which happened to be on sale. The sign was removed after my purchase of three and I didn’t see more packers being put out, so I half wonder if I got the last of them. Who knows(?).chzplz said:Where in Canada are you? How about a swap. We’ll send you inexpensive briskets, you send us inexpensive prescription drugs
LBGE (still waitin' for my free T-Shirt), DIgiQ DX2 (In Blue, cause it's the fastest), Heavy Duty Kick Ash Basket, Mc Farland, WI.

If it wasn't for my BGE I'd have no use for my backyard... -
Thanks - I had tried Merivale. C'est la vie.GrateEggspectations said:

I was in Ottawa looking today also, Kanata Costco was sold out of brisket while Huntclub/Merivale had 5 left in stock. I bought 2... Not sure about the other stores.GrateEggspectations said:

hope its not a sign of them clearing out stock and we are back to no affordable brisket. I just cooked up the second one we grabbed when they came into our store (Burlington).
Makes me think i should put another few into the freezer if i can still get them before they are gone -
I thought Canadian brisket is round

I bought two of those yesterday at the Moncton store.

Went to Vaughan store this morning, found these three small ones in the bunker, with terrible fat:meat ratio ...

Asked a friendly clerk and he brought me this more decent larger piece from inside ...
