MOLD! Inside my Egg for the very first time since purchased in 2010

Its an XL, Green cap in place and covered when not in use and recently moved to the open part of my deck. Also changed direction of the the way it faces and put on a new gasket. NEVER has it had mold in it before. Questions: now thats it in the open should I keep it uncovered? I am using an official BGE cover and it sits in a BGE table. the front now faces the South so would leaving the vent open at the bottom be helpful. WTH??? Seems like a new game! Did a burn off before and after my cook.

I think it might help to open the bottom vent after it has cooled down. I have heard that this can be a problem with the covers because moisture gets trapped inside and it can't breath. However, I have had mold in my eggs after extended lack of use (neglect!). NBD...i just let it rip for a while and it burns off.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Light it up and burn the mold out. Mine has set out in the weather for years. I do not cover. I leave the bottom vent cracked to keep from getting mold.

I've gotten mold many times, even though I always leave the vents open when not in use. I think it happens when I've done a low-and-slow as the last cook for a few weeks. A hot cook leaves little behind to support mold, but with a low-and-slow there's more likely to be stuff left in the Egg that has nutrients and will be a little moist.
I just burn it off. -
I have the SmokeWare chimneys, and am able to open them all the way, as well as the bottom vent. I had mold before trying this, it solved the problem.1 LBGE, 1 SBGE, 1 KBQ and a 26" Blackstone near Blackstone, Virginia
