    For those that have a difficult time getting the springs off / on, here is an old Harley kickstand spring trick that works for BGE, too.  

    If you close the lid to your egg, there will be space between the coils of the springs.  Insert about 7 or 8 pennies into the spaces along the length of spring.  Then, when you open the lid, the springs stay extended and you can simply unhook them.  Set the springs, with pennies inserted, to the side and when you need to re-install, open the lid slightly and they will easily slip back on.

    Here's a picture, but not a BGE spring.  They are 1 cent coins, just to clarify.
