I do like the unit but the flame boss allows me to monitor the cooks while I'm out of the house which is a big plus and having one unit monitor the grill temp and food is a huge plus. I used the PartyQ along with a Maverick to do that.

The PartyQ does take batteries but I would say that could be a plus instead of a negative I used rechargeable batteries and never had any issues or had the unit stop working during a long cook even in the cold winter months.

Yes it will fit a large BGE has the adapter for it that is what I currently own.

The adapter it comes with allows for it to fit on most medium to XL cermaic style grills.
