Envious of you right now. I just put a new putter (Scotty Cameron) in my bag, but it’s been raining for days so I can’t play.
Hit em’ straight and enjoy the weather there! -

Looks wonderful! The northern part of our state received 10 inches of snow this week and many courses down here are dealing with poor conditions due to winter kill. The envy is high looking at those photos.Stillwater, MN

Man that is awesome. If I may ask - how much is a round at Pinehurst?
-
For the public, Green fee for #2 is $495 not including the caddie.
Shot a 109 on #2. Not disappointed with my score, as I was walking with stars in my eyes and we had a real stick in the mud for a caddie. Borderline rude. I hope to go back and break 100.
The greens are incredible. The fairway play is amazing. Punishing if you don’t put the ball EXACTLY where it needs to go. Rewarding if you respect Mr Ross and the pinehurst philosophy.
Got an an engraved bag tag while I was there. $20. A fantastic souvenir for the trip.

That sucks your caddy wasn’t great. I’ve played a couple times and the caddy helped make the experience that much more enjoyable. Was like having a tour guide. Telling stories and jokes.

My company had an event there, after the 1999 US Open, so I was able to join in. I had a great time on the course, but was sure there were many others that would have enjoyed/appreciated it more than I did.Raleigh, NC

How about an extra day at Butt Blast 2020 and work in a golf outing? How far is Pinehurst to the venue?Signal Mountain, TN

Wanted to revisit this thread real quickly.
My friend geoffrey is the guy that I played with on this trip. Last week, he and his wife hosted family for a golf outing on #2, and after the game, everyone chose to take “the shuttle” home. Geoffrey volunteered to drive home the golf cart.
My friends basically live right on #2, and the cart paths are sand, not paved.
On the way home, the cart lost control in the sand and hit a tree. Geoffrey was ejected. Unable to move any of his extremities, emergency help finally reached him. The pinehurst Director said it was the only time anyone knew of a helicopter landing on #2. He was choppered to chapel hill emergency. 15 minutes. Those helicopters really move.
Scans show no breaks. No transaction of the spinal column. So no damage, in that way. But he has “spinal shock.” Near as I can tell, it’s paralysis as a result of the swelling and trauma around the nerves. Kind of like squeezing a garden hose, the water can’t get through.
Therapy involves rehab, and letting the body try and heal itself. Lots of stages of nerve repair. Some feeling has returned. Some has not. Some feeling has become extremely super sensitive. This is all part of normal recovery from spinal shock and is expected.
Some people recover completely. Some don’t.
Geoffrey is a cool guy, and he and his wife are understandably going through cycles of frustration, depression, humor, and hope. Recovery may take years. The dude really likes his golf, and his friends and family. Reminds me of the sort we get around this forum, in that way.
.... No replies to this thread necessary, please. Just raise a scotch or a guitar pick or a golf club or a hug or whatever it is that you use your extremities to enjoy, to Geoffrey and his wife Tess once, if you don’t mind. Good people, who could use our good vibes right about now.
Thanks gang.
