OT--Calling all tech people--ot

Had a minor outage of our cable/internet today. No big thing it was up and running in a hour or so. I just went downstairs to rewatch Lilyhammer and netflix is stuck at 20%. I have reset the modem but I still have the same problem. Any suggestions? but keep in mind i'm a deisel engine mechanic and more accustom to using a hammer and blow torch than IT tools.

Never mind. I just reset the modem for the third time and I'm back up and streaming.

Sounds like you should’ve reset your Roku or whatever you use to stream.

One of the best things I learned in undergraduate school for electrical and computer engineering:

If it doesn't work, turn it off and turn it back on again. If it still doesn't work, turn it off, kick it, and turn it back on again.

I used to do “internal customer support” for a company. would get a work order to diagnose and repair workstation computers that wouldn’t power up all the damn time.

Go to the cubie and the cleaning crew would have unplugged the computer to use their vacuums.

Job made me open my my own computer consulting firm.

$80/hr

2 hr minimum.
