I bought mine there years ago, but no idea of the brand. It's served its purpose since it's purchase (although the ignition switch no longer works - I now just light it manually) and I'm about to use it this evening.

I'm not too concerned about this based on how I use it. It's just for the Egg and if that happened, I'd just turn the knob off. If that failed, the tank gets turned off.

I could see this being a potential problem for people burning a fence line, but it shouldn't be a hazard for isolated use on the Egg.

I wish they'd recall my Chicago electric chain saw. Its trigger has the same issue. That can get real interesting when you're up on an extension ladder trimming trees with a chain saw that won't stop.

That does appear to cover mine. I guess I should call them, and see about taking it and swapping it for a slightly less crappy PoS electric chainsaw :)

I got my Chicago chainsaw replaced this afternoon. The replacement looks like the same thing, different color, and is now called a Portland. The kickers...they told me the recall was over, but they'd do it anyway. They told me I should have been notified of the recall (I wasn't). They knew what I'd paid for it, and since the current price is lower, not only did I get a new one, but a gift card with a few bucks on it.

Hopefully, the replacement won't leak bar oil like the old one. I started putting it in a big garbage bag before putting it back in the box for storage between uses. The box was still dripping bar oil when I returned it.

Thank you. I visited their website, searched keyword recall, and found this qualifier:

IF YOUR PROPANE TORCH HAS A NUMBER STAMPED INTO THE HANDLE AND THE LETTERS IGI STAMPED INTO THE BRASS, IT IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL AND DOES NOT NEED TO BE RETURNED. 

It turns out that mine does have the letters IGI clearly stamped into the brass, so my torch is apparently not a part of the recall.
