Egg sitting in the garage with a fresh Rutland, how do I put the bands back on? I still have the factory spacers, should I use them?

That's what I have always done. The key is to keep the bands uniform around both base and dome.~ John - Formerly known as ColtsFan - https://www.instagram.com/hoosier_egger

I forget how I did it the first time, do you make the bottom bands flush to the top of the base then use the spacers for the top?
Also, what's the torque spec for the band bolts?!?Frederick, MD - LBGE and some accessories -
New bands or old bands?I didn't even remove my bands when I installed my rutland.NOLA

Old bands. I only removed because I just moved and disassembled my eggFrederick, MD - LBGE and some accessories

So yes, like you said. Put the spacers in and pull the bottom bands up to the spacers and the top bands down and then tighten. I don't know the torque but the bolts should have a substantial bend to them. At least 30 degrees IIRC.

This may not apply to you since your bands have already been on your egg, but when I installed my new bands, I pushed both the top and bottom bands around the base, put the top on, and then lifted the top bands up. They were a b!tch to install because they ship compressed and getting them to fit around the top base (which is an imperfect circle) is a PITA.

Perhaps this may help...it is the old style bands (vid from 2013)

Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.
