I’m going to be putting on a pork butt for an overnight smoke and it’s very windy today and seems like it’s gonna be windy tonight according to the weather Channel. Looks like 15 to 20 mph winds do you think I will have any issues?

Are you using a controller?
I would turn the egg so that the bottom vent is opposite of the direction the wind is coming from.

It should not affect it. I've done briskets at 40+ winds and well below zero and I have not had any issues. If you can put the egg facing away from the wind it will help with fluctuations.

Light the BGE 2-3 hours before you plan to load the protein and make sure it is stable. If the above speeds a fairly constant then you should not see much fluctuation once stable.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Put a chair or something in front of the egg to block the wind if you can’t move the egg. It probably won’t make a difference but it’s only two seconds of effort...

I had a windy smoking day over the weekend and counteracted by putting a piece of aluminum foil on my challenger cart in front of the bottom vent. You could accomplish the same with foil and some tape I'm sure.Mountain View, CA
