Praise for BGE & my dealer

I own a M and XL purchased from Wilson’s Nursery in Frankfort Ky.  A little over 2 years ago I purchased a L from Wilson’s as a wedding gift for my son and on the advice of @caliking I contacted Berings in Houston where our daughter lived to purchase a L as a wedding gift for her soon to occur wedding.  All was well until our daughter and son in law moved to Lexington, Ky.  Not long afterwards, their fire ring broke in half but they continued to use it.
Wilson’s is an hour away from us but Thursday I was by there shortly before closing and explained the problem to their egg man, Tom Weeks. I thought having purchased the L in Texas might present a problem. He needed a pic which I happened to have on my phone and sent to him.  He wrote down my info and where and when I purchased the egg. Then he disappeared for a few minutes. When he returned, he handed me a new, in the box, L fire ring. Maybe 15 minutes total and I walked out with fire ring.
Now that’s Customer Service,  from BGE in general and Wilson’s Nursery in particular.

My experiences with BGE and their dealers have been similar. Thanks for posting.

My dealer in Peoria, IL used to stock pile rings and fire boxes. If a customer walked in with a problem he walked out with the replacement. After corporate BGE tightened up and my dealer ran out of replacement inventory then approval, shipping etc slowed down considerably!

Good post @FarmerTom .    With some negative threads about dealers recently, it's good to be reminded of the good experiences too.

It is good to see a positive one, as like the news, most “good” things don’t make the headlines. It always amazes, and yet makes me chuckle at the differences in dealers. We have several locally. Some of them don’t know a thing about what they sell or how to really use them. A couple will bend over backwards to make it right. Funny how those dealers happen to be busy all the time, and some of the “other ones” no longer sell BGE. Glad it went well
