The Roast Beast - question!

I want to do a fun thing this year with the rib roast - add a tail and back legs with the little chef hats a la "The Roast Beast" on the Grinch. Any ideas? Where do you the little hats?

@Sea2Ski I did find the little hats on Amazon - good call. Now, what to do for the actual tail and legs?Lovin' my Large Egg since May 2012 (Richmond, VA) ... and makin' cookbooks at https://FamilyCookbookProject.com

Maybe use the turkey’s neck as the tail?
-
@Dyal_SC I'm cooking a bone-in rib roast - I don't think it includes a turkey neck! But I was thinking along the lines of some chicken/bird parts with a dark rub to try and match color.Lovin' my Large Egg since May 2012 (Richmond, VA) ... and makin' cookbooks at https://FamilyCookbookProject.com

We did a family cookbook several years ago and will do another in the next few years. It’s a great combination of modern recipes and old family recipes. It includes recipes from SIL’s mothers family from Italy. Ex-BIL’s family from Germany and wife’s French Canadian family. It’s a really great resource.

lol, my bad, didn’t catch the “rib roast” part... had the grinch’s poultry looking thing in mind and a$$umed you were doing a turkey. I’ve grilled up whole beagles before with good results. Can’t wait to see what you come up with.Cookbook_Chip said:@Dyal_SC I'm cooking a bone-in rib roast - I don't think it includes a turkey neck! Wow! You used my site and printed on your own - that's so cool. Thank you! Looks like that cookbook gets a lot of use, too.GrillSgt said:We did a family cookbook several years ago and will do another in the next few years. No kidding! That's great. It is highly sought after to this day by family members. I think we printed 100 and still have people asking for them. The neat thing is a lot of the true family recipes come with a good side story.

That is so cool, I texted the wife and two daughters this.

Maybe a couple of small legs of lamb for the legs?

For the tail maybe a lamb chop with the bone.
This could get expensive..but if you were to take a chunk like above and cut away the other bones perhaps leave one to look like a tail.
Either that your just get a slim jim from the gas station.
Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
