Has been awhile since I have done prime rib, forgot how much I missed it...

Large egg and mini max egg plus a Blackstone griddle

    mccormick montreal steak seasoning and rosemary... a very simple rub..
    It is hard to find a better rub than Montreal Steak Seasoning for Prime Rib. Bonus points for the Rosemary....

    That is how to bring it home.  Congrats.
    Since this could be the first of the prime rib cooks in the run-up to Xmas-could you post your cook temp and time; asking for the masses ;)
    Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

    prime rib was 6.5 lbs.  temp was 320    time was approx. 2.5 hrs. or so. it probed on ends 145-150 and middle approx. 120..  used apple chips, just because i had some handy.

    Thanks for the follow-up.  There will be many attempts to replicate around Dec 25th.
