CGS Medium Egg Woo question

CGS shows a woo for the old 5 dimple fire ring (which I have), and also one for the newer 3 notch fire ring. Would it be a safe bet to get the 3 notch one and use it on my 5 dimple fire ring until I replace the fire ring?  It has some cracks, so I know I’ll be replacing it, just not sure when.

I have a three notch fire ring. The woo rests on the rire all the way around it, not just at the notches. I wouldn’t see why 3 or 5 notches would matter. The medium did undergo a size change so you may want to call Tom and verify before ordering.

Thanks!  My brother in law gave me this older egg. Seems he got a newer PS for the 3 notch and larger grid, so I’ve already upgraded to the 16” grid to fit.

They've got a sale on the old version right now.....if it has the smaller diameter fire ring and grid.

the 3 leg woo does not match up very well with the five dimple medium fire ring. It's hard not to get one of the legs to sit in one of the 5 dimples. that's why we make both.

I would upgrade your fire ring before buying it. You'll like the new fire ring better as it is wider which helps eliminate some of the troubles getting mediums up to high temps. Also make sure the grid is 15.75" OD, not the old 15" OD.
