Sharing a laugh

Yesterday, in the washroom at work, I bumped into a coworker of mine who is an avid cyclist. Having just learned that he had purchased a new bike, and given that I had my roadside emergency kit on me at the time, I took the opportunity to show him a handy bike multi-tool that I had just purchased (specifically, the CrankBrothers M19).

We chatted about it a little bit and while on his way out of the washroom, with audible traffic of other employees walking by, he innocently exclaims in a loud voice without at first realizing the deep implications of his statement, “thanks for showing me your tool!”.

We both then had a very good laugh about the exchange. I can only imagine what kind of rumours this may have generated.

Do you do it recreationally or commute (or both)?

I purchased a new bike recently and have been outfitting myself with all sorts gear for commuting to work. Given that I live in a pretty cold climate and that winter is creeping in, I’ve been cycling in -5C (23F) temps (without factoring in wind chill) without adequate gear and now need to buy some gloves and face coverings. The snow will put a stop to this soon.
