Found my BGE Mini-Max

I finally found one for what I consider a steal. The guy I got this from got it in an raffle. Him and his wife already have 2 eggs and are not going to use this. He was asking $350 I offered $300 and now it’s mine.
Don’t know I got I got so lucky either because the wife let me pick this up on our way to our mini-moon destination. Tossed it in the back of our car on the way to the beach.

Congrats. Similarly I found one on Craigslist and paid $350 with plate setter and the works. The guy I purchased from camped a lot and was upgrading from a mini. He hadn't realized how heavy the mini max is....thus sold to me....and he went with 2 minis for his camping outings. I still (vastly) prefer my large egg....but the mini max has endeared itself to me. I do need a table or some set-up for the mini max....and such a table I believe would vastly enhance my enjoyment of this size egg.

I have a Large as well and hope this will come in handy on the weeknight cooks where I don’t have as much time to prep and wait for things to get hot. And I’m sure I can teach the wife to use this one since it’s less intimidating to her.Kitarkus said:Congrats. Similarly I found one on Craigslist and paid $350 with plate setter and the works. Yup...mini max is great when cooking for only 2 or 3 eaters. Very efficient. I can't quite dial the mini max 'in' as easily as I can the large. Time will change this surely. It is a great companion to the Large...and this weekend I will take the mini max glamping with me....an option obviously not possible with a Large egg. Enjoy yours.Kevinboatright said:

So jealous. I picked up a mini last week very easy to transport but still have my heart sent on a MM.

Does anyone use a an Ash Basket with their Mini-Max? I understand it’s value on a large BGE but how about with the mini max? No way I’m using that small ash tool every time.Atlanta, GA

I have a KAB for the large but not the MM. I usually wait a day or so then just use my hands to stir up or remove the lump.Marshall in Beautiful Fruit Cove, FL.

I have it in my large and MM. on the MM i also have the high que grate and I just remove ash by hand vs using the small ash tool. So it seems due to the small size of the MM firebox, just ignore using a basket and just hand pick. Then shopvac like I do the large every so often.Atlanta, GA

I have it on the MM. I also have a high que grate for a large egg in there as well. Having them running in opposite direction so that smaller peices that fall through the KAB are caught by the hi que.
