At least the bedroom that I use will have metal over it tonight. They keep using my ladders, the other end of the house has my 20 foot multipurpose ladder on it.

A bit over double. At that point though: there is a $220 a year reduction in house insurance costs, a reduction of up to 40% of electricity bill during air-conditioning months, an estimated 40 year life span with a written warrantee. Metal shingle/tile , like in the photo underneath, has the same benefits and at 1.5 times asphalt shingle costs.SaintJohnsEgger said:How does the cost compare to a traditional shingle roof?

With the issues you have had just getting this far and the fact that this is a paying job...how do you feel about the chances of getting warrantee work done?Gulfcoastguy said:

Even if you provide the ladders.lolThank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
Well it is in one of the rainiest summers that I can remember and also during hurricane season. Plus I paid to have new plywood installed and a lot of carpenter ant damaged wood replaced. The metal crew is working a lot faster. As they say about a lifetime warranty “whose life?” I supervised the installation of an identical roof, other than color, at my former place of employment in 1997. It is still leakfree even after Katrina. I will be fortunate if I see 30 more trips around the sun. If I do, after 20 of them or less I would be paying to reshingle it with asphalt shingles again if I had gone that route.

I'm sure it will also help the resale of the house if that were to ever come up.Gulfcoastguy said:Well it is in one of the rainiest summers that I can remember and also during hurricane season. I hope it all goes well.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
3/4s of the backside up. They would have finished the front up today but the metal fabricator didn’t include the transition piece for the slope change up front. If I understood the Spainglish right , one more day on the house and one day on the garage.

Let them borrow the ladder to get up there then yank it and tell them they can have it back when they are done!South of Columbus, Ohio.

Meanwhile all done but the ridge cap and the cleanup. Should be done tomorrow.

Did the garage get done too?Ubi panis, ibi patria.

Same stage, just the ridge cap, some caulking and placing the new boots over the penetrations . And writing the check of course.
-
Wait for the next rainstorm before you write that final check.
