Anyone ever seen this ash drawer

{this is NOT an ad...just an genuine question}
I ran into this today on EBay, and I know nothing about it. listing is pretty short ("SLID OUT ASH DRAWER FOR LARGE BIG GREEN EGG GRILL"...says it is new, for a large.
Anyone ever seen it before, used one, or know who makes it and/or sells it?

Looks like the kamado joe drawer.

Can't say I have for the EGG. I don't have a problem removing ash, but interesting concept. 2 design questions: 1) the inside of egg is round, this is rectangle. 2) Unless that handle detaches, how would use bottom vent? Maybe you really don't need the handle.

I wondered the same thing about the handle. It must come off easily, and only be used to pull and empty the tray. Even with that it would likely change the air flow. Not kill the air flow, just change it. I am still learning how to fine tune the bottom and top vents as is; it seems like a fine art.

Pretty close -- Width of 1 finger=225-250; 2 fingers= 275-300, 3 fingers=350-400. Top vent to fine tune.

Interesting. But, not interested in reinventing the wheel on this task of ash removal. Shop vac out every now and then. It also gives me time to give a once over inspection of the ceramics (dome, base, firebox and firering for damage).LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

I have found that to hold 225-250 I must have the bottom open just barely a crack; maybe 1/4" or 3/8". Unlike The Donald my fingers are bigger than that

if you look at the photos it comes with 2 pieces just like the Kamado Joe grills.
Looks like the internal piece has been modified to fit BGE as well.
This type product works great on the KJ grills but does limit air flow a little.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
Chucky got it right; it is standard with new model Kamado Joes. One picture on their website shows the whole thing, handle and all, inside the shell, with the lower vent screen and cover still in place and working. Looks like it slides into some sort of holder though.

@Photo Egg Sure if you already have one on KJ use it. But, I cannot see spending $80 for one. Then again I've spent more on much more frivolous things. So...

$80.00 will buy you about 11-14oz of SRF top grade Ribeye Cap...Ha...Ha...
Damn, the things we spend money on...If my Dad ever saw the invoice for my last SRF order he would keel over. But we have no kids, pets or house plantsThank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
Just $39,but it just fit the latest Egg with "Big green Egg "imprint on the firebox.

$39 sounds way more reasonable but I still wont buy it. Too many other things that make more sense.Marshall in Beautiful Fruit Cove, FL.

Seems like a huge pain in the ass to me. Why add a step to cleaning the bottom since it will miss half the ash and you will still have to scrape.
-
It has a piece that funnels the ash into the tray, I was confused at first too then looked at the pics on Amazon. Not something I’m looking to get though, ash cleanup is easy and about to get even easier with my new KAB.BugFreak72 said:Seems like a huge pain in the ass to me. But I would not spend money to buy this.Yeah, the KJ pull out ash catcher doesn't impede air flow any worse than the BGE sliding screen (oxidized or not
).
