Bacon wrapped beef tenderloin tips needed

Hey All,

Going to do a beef tenderloin this afternoon and plan to make it bacon wrapped. I did this with a pork tenderloin and although very tasty, was wanting the bacon more cooked but had to pull so no to overcook pork. Any suggestions? Precook bacon a bit?

thanks

I've never done one, but a quick look on YouTube turned up this Malcom Reed cook that might help. His only suggestion was to use thin sliced bacon.

Then again, while his bacon looked good, I thought his beef was a bit overdone.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Absolutely pre cook the bacon to get rid of some of the fat as that will cause too much bacon grease smoke in my opinion it you are cooking direct. If indirect probably not so much of an issue. Bur either way it will make for a crispier bacon. Best of luck.
