I'm doing pepper stout beef today (I'll post those pics later) and I decided to use the MIniMax along with my FlameBoss 200.
Unfortunately in setting things up I didn't notice that the pit probe fell out on the ground. So it was reading 84 and I had the cook temp set to 265. So the FB200 thought the temp wasn't coming up and kept the fan at 100%. Temp got to over 400 in the egg and I had a heck of a time getting it back down.
The meat probe went south after about 10 minutes so I ended up digging out one of my Maverick 732s and pulling out the FB completely as it was also reading about 100 degrees higher than the dome thermometer or the Maverick. The Maverick and the dome were within 15 degrees of each other the whole time which would be about right for the difference between the dome temp and the grate temp.
The main fault was mine not the FlameBoss. With the pit probe on the ground at 84 degrees it logically tried to bring up the pit temperature by running the fan full speed but it never saw the pit temp rising. And I was inside at the time eating breakfast. I was using my phone to monitor the FB but I didn't catch on to what was going on until it was too late. Can't fault FlameBoss with that.
Going to call FlameBoss tomorrow about the flaky readings and the meat probe not working.
Veggies are prepared and in the pan. The oven is at 350 and the meat internal temps is at 167. So going to pull it shortly and start the braising phase of the cook.

The meat is in the oven braising now t 350. I figure about 3 more hours of it smelling up the house with that delicious small of roasted meat. Kids won't be over until later today.
Off now to make some tomato sandwiches for lunch.Marshall in Beautiful Fruit Cove, FL.

What time? Might be difficult to wait after you shred the meat. It makes great sandwiches, just saying.Ubi panis, ibi patria.

@SaintJohnsEgger One trick I've learned when the heat has gotten too hot is throw more lump on. It smothers the fire but doesn't extinguish it. You'll have to wait for the VOCs to burn off but still faster than closing the vents and waiting.XLBGE, LBGE, MBGE, SMALL, MINI, 2 Kubs, Fire Magic Gasser

I managed to get the temp down to 269 not long before the meat hit the 165 mark. I actually waited until the internal temp was 167 before pulling it off the egg and moving to the oven.
This is the second cook in a little over a week that I have done a hybrid. The first was baby backs in the oven then finished on the egg. This one went the other way.Marshall in Beautiful Fruit Cove, FL.

Called Flame Boss today and I have two new temp probes on the way. My customer support experiences with them have always been excellent.
The problems I had were with the probes acting flaky as well as me being too stupid to realize what the FB was trying to tell me. 30 years as a programmer and I am/was pretty good at debugging issues. Must be getting rusty in retirement.Marshall in Beautiful Fruit Cove, FL.
