I would be more concerned with how many times you have apparently warrantied your egg. Are you cooking Plutonium in them?

Great use of cracked BGE'S parts! I haven't had any cracks in the base or domes yet! Guessing someday.

    I prefer a fire pit.
At first glance I thought that horizontal pipe was going to be for a rotisserie over the base.

That would be better. A lot of sweat equity removing the fence late last year.

That may depend on your dealer. Neighbor has a cracked base and went to a dealer with much higher turnover than the store where he purchased his large egg. He made a comment in the store about making a planter of the broken one. Dealer said they take back the old bases because some customer with three warranty claims said he was going to be able to make a new egg with the old base. Dealer told him in no uncertain terms that was not going to happen as he wasn't going to be able to make a second warranty claim at another dealership. Doesn't worry about the smaller ceramics so be aware.

  •   When I worked in a small engine shop we will throw my mowers away at the local dump and about two hours later somebody would come in with that mower and ask what’s it gonna take to make this go =) After a few of those we would take a sledgehammer to the block

Fire pit worked great after I supported the dome atop the cracked firebox to provide some oxygen to the fire. These two large eggs all developed hairline fractures that I didn't feel safe using on a wooden deck. Amazing that a titanium drill bit couldn't drill holes in the bottom of the base planters...I had to buy a ceramic bit and then it went thru like butter!!

Noted. I text with my dealer, he wouldn’t care. However if it was required of him by the distributor, I would comply. I have no interest in taking advantage and if they want the parts back that’s ok with me.
