... they think I’m nuts for spending that kind of money on charcoal...
    So do I.
What is a more affordable alternative? I thought about using royal oak for hot burns like pizza.

I had the same thought, but I'm not sure the $ difference is all we make it out to be.  RO appears cheaper, but it's in much smaller bags.  Then we should factor in the lump used up in the 45 minutes waiting for good smoke.

I stopped messing around a while back - RW for everything for me.

    Spare me.

    Buy what you want.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I would grab a bag or two if there was an Ace any where near me.  Nearest one is 10 miles away in a direction I almost never go.

Two computers and three browsers later, I wound up going into my local store and ordering it.

Me too.  Was pleasantly surrpsied that they now stock it in store.  Picked up two bags, but they wouldn't stack my $5 discount.

Ha! I am 14 miles from a town. I now complain about driving 1/2 hour to Columbus, how easily I forgot spending hours and hours in a truck in Raleigh.

I live smack in the middle of a traffic nightmare for 2-4 hours a day.  10 miles can easily become 45 min.  In Some directions I can easily ride a bike to my destination faster.  The local BGE vendor is ~2.5 miles from my house which is right on the edge of the traffic nightmrare.

I think I found a trick around the limit two, I ordered two bags from my google chrome, then ordered another 2 bags when I used google in incognito mode, of course I had to sign back in to Ace but it worked!

    Thanks,

My local Ace called me today to tell me they didn’t have 1 of 2 bags in stock. My response was, no problem, I’ll be ordering more every other day or so. His response, great!

  • I ordered 2 more for a total of 4.  Ace called 10 minutes later “how many bags of charcoal do you want because the warehouse called and said you just order two and we already have here at the store for you”  =)
