B & B Charcoal

Ace Hardware was out of Rockwood, both locations. Guy at Ace said give this a go. Did a couple of Boston butts first cook with it and left over Rockwood. Other than popping and sparking no weird smoke.
2 nd cook was smash burgers on my griddle on the LBGE.
HEAT was fine and did not use a whole lot.
Going to ask if any else has tried this stuff.
Have coupons from Ace for Rockwood for $19.99 limit 2, I am going to max out on the Rockwood deal.
LBGE, and just enough knowledge and gadgets to be dangerous .

Yup, I use Rockwood, but found this at Walmart recently and tried it out.  Not bad!

Was at a local Ace yesterday and saw they had it. Never seen it before so I picked up a bag to try.

I speak for the forum when I say WAIT WHAT, HOW DOES YOUR FOOD COOK WITHOUT ROCKWOOD? DID YOU MICROWAVE THAT BRISKET?

Thoughts on this? I run RO without issue for more than half the cost of RW. Am I missing out on twice the performance? Doubtful. Is my investment account happy? You know it.

It seems when I surface folks get a little worked up. If it’s not DMW acting like he is 12, it’s Nola threatening to call some poor guys Dad and write corporate to tell on him, all because he thought I was Pete.

don't suck your own d!ck.  I generally don't give a flying fvck about you other than you're fun to poke at and watch you play the victim.

  • I'm about half way through a bag. Noticed that it is harder to get started than some. Like the flavor profile of others better as well.
Not really bad, but not one I'd make my go to.

Depending on how much lump you go through Rockwood is nice to have on hand. I think its all @DoubleEgger uses. I tend to supplement my RO by keeping 2 bags of RO on hand and 1 bag of Rockwood. Sometimes its nice to have the Rockwood when I don't want a Hickory or Oak Flavor in the food. Its hard to beat the $9.99 for 20lbs price of RO at Home Depot that we have year round here.
