  • Dumb question. What kind of steak is a flat iron?  Sirloin?  Flank?

@JMCXL One of my favorite steak cuts.  Lookin' good right there.  Either a crowd to enjoy or you can pound the protein.  However it works, enjoy as I know you will.

Not a dumb question but I am not sure that’s Flat Iron and similar to flank, thin and very good

We had 9 of us and had some left over chicken thighs from lunch. All left the table happy and full. The bonus is we have leftovers

No butcher or meat biologist here but that is about the best steak cut for the $$ I have found.  Here's a google informercial:
"This large primal comes from the shoulder area and yields cuts known for their rich, beefy flavor. Features roasts ideal for slow-cooking as well as more tender, grill-ready cuts such as the Flat Iron Steak."
Sliced thin across the grain and a winner every time.  Congrats on the outcome and even better the gathering.

If you're pounding the protein in front of a crowd, they better be swingers or you're gonna have a bad time.

Each piece was $4.24 , just over a pound each. Can’t beat the price (as you mentioned)

Every bit the flavor of the ribeye for a fraction in cost. Great for family style service and versatile enough for fajitas and stirfrys. I always have a handful in the freezer.I Couldn’t agree more.
