    Hmmm....that Nakiri on sale is still the same price as Amazon.

    One of these days I'm going to find that thing under $100.

    @Killit_and_Grillit   Your best bet is a Williams Sonoma outlet. They have Shun for 40% off. I saw a Nakiri for about a hundred bucks not too long ago. I’ll keep an eye out for you. There’s an outlet a couple miles from the house.

    @DoubleEgger thanks, man! My wife is on "principle issues" with knives now after coming down to my garage/outdoor prep area and said, "you have a Garage Shun Chef Knife?!? Don't we have that EXACT same knife 15 feet away in the kitchen?"

    I tried to explain it was dangerous walking up and down stairs with knives to justify my expense...to no avail.

    (EDIT: If she really understood what was in the gun safes the knives would immediately become a non issue, but I would be sleeping on your couch.)

    You've hacked what was my temporary surplus of $$$ @DoubleEgger I believe the term is INK surplus. Income, No Kids.

    Man...I remember it like it was yesterday. No diapers bills. Dinners out that didn't involve a crayon on the table. Extra car in lieu of a college fund. Fooling around without locking down your room like Fort Knox (I know the last one doesn't have to do with money...but I miss that, too.)
