<p />The cake is done, and it was eggscelant. It took a little longer than the 55 minutes....like 1 hour 20minutes....but I was patient...Enjoyed by all...just needed a little vanilla ice cream. On to the next dessert!!!

    MrsAZRP,
That looks great! I'm going to try that sometime. Not hooked yet, huh?

Side note: what's all that going on in the background with the cages, etc.?

    Hi John,
The small white cage houses our chickens that we have for fresh eggs. The darker one to the left is my garden. Living in the desert requires a fortress if you want to grow anything. Not only is it totally encased in chicken wire, I had to put hardware cloth 6" below the soil to keep mice from digging thier way in. The rest is some of the horse stalls. -RP

  • MrsAZRP,[p]The cake looks yummy. I think you're hooked and just won't admit. Enjoy AZ

  • MrsAZRP,[p]Here is a very simple cake dessert that will make em beg for another piece. It is very rich and great tasting. It is easy to do on the Egg or even in your oven but don't tell anybody. [p]It is called a "Gooey Dump Cake".[p]30MVC-011E.jpg[p]Gooey Dump Cake[p]1 - 20ounce can of crushed pineapple in its own juice (do not use the stuff with syrup)[p]2 - 16 bags of frozen peaches (it their own juice) (has to be frozen, not fresh or canned)[p]1 box of cheap white cake mix[p]¼ to ½ cup of brown sugar[p]¼ to ½ cup of raisins[p]1 stick melted butter or margarine[p]Preheat Egg to about 375ºF and lightly grease a 9x13 pan. Dump can of pineapple and juice in pan and spread even. Dump 1 bag of
frozen peaches and spread even. Peaches MUST still be frozen. Dump the box of cake mix next and spread even. Dump the
second bag of frozen peaches on next and spread even. Dump the raisins and spread even. You can add more or less raisins.
Dump the brown sugar next and spread even. You can add more or less of brown sugar. Take the melted butter or margarine
and drizzle over the top. Put in Egg for 60-70 mins. Remove from oven and let set for 15 to 30 mins. Serve with ice cream on top
and then sprinkle pecans on top of ice cream. This dessert is very sweet. The ice cream helps mellow out the sweetness. This
taste better when the dump cake is warm. [p]Note:
Do not follow the directions on the box of cake mix. Just dump the dry ingredients.[p]This cake will come out kinda gooey in the middle and that is the way it should be and is not under done. [p]30MVC-012E.jpg[p]Enjoy...[p]Dave[p][p]
